Another Fake Deal, Another Phish: This Time, It’s a Memorial Day "Special"
Just when you thought your holiday couldn’t get more annoying, here comes a scam text straight to your phone, proudly declaring: "Memorial Day Specials!!! Reply END to cancel."
The text comes from +1 (855) 488-5989 and includes a sketchy shortened URL (https://stmls.txtalert.co/wOPu
) that redirects to a site with a login form under dolinksys.com. Don't let the clean interface fool you—this isn’t a legit brand or service. It’s a classic phishing trap dressed in minimalist UX clothing.
What Happens If You Click?
You're taken to a fake login screen asking for a verification code. These pages are often used to trick you into providing access to your accounts—usually email, bank, or delivery service logins. Once they have that code? Game over. You're either redirected to a real login page to avoid suspicion, or worse, they use your session to access your accounts directly.
What to Do:
- Do NOT click the link.
- Do NOT reply to the message (even “STOP” or “END” can confirm your number is active).
- Block the sender and report the number to your mobile provider by forwarding it to 7726 (SPAM).
- If you clicked the link and entered any information, change your passwords immediately and enable two-factor authentication wherever possible.
Bottom Line: Memorial Day deals are great—just don’t shop for them through unsolicited text messages from mystery numbers. Scammers are banking on your curiosity and your holiday mood. Stay cautious.
